Job Description

Working independently and under general supervision from the Principal Investigator, provides support to clinical and social science research studies. Responsibilities include assessing potential subjects, developing recruitment strategies, recommending protocol changes, and supervising entry-level staff.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Educational and Scientific Duties: Coordinate curriculum development for an online family planning capacity-building course with a national audience. Identify and synthesize existing didactic materials; create new content to supplement. Manage course operations, including participant recruitment, session preparation, faculty engagement, and scheduling. Evaluate course impact, assist in designing assessment tools, and support data collection. Conduct literature searches as needed. Assist with qualitative and quantitative data analysis. Support PI in preparing conference presentations and publications. Identify funding opportunities and assist with grant applications. Administrative Duties: Manage grant budgets, including staff salary planning. Oversee QA activities related to human subjects research compliance, IRB oversight, and process auditing. Coordinate purchasing and procurement activities. Engage external contractors as needed. Develop and implement research protocols, including data systems and IRB approval. Train and orient new staff. Serve as liaison for external collaborators on financial and IRB matters. Maintain program and lab websites in collaboration with web staff. Management Duties: Supervise research program operations and delegate tasks. Conduct interviews, review resumes, and write job descriptions. Perform annual staff evaluations. Train and supervise research staff, interns, and volunteers. Ensure protocol adherence and data analysis supervision. Oversee procurement and billing disputes. Perform other duties as assigned. High computer literacy. Excellent organizational skills. Attention to detail. Professionalism, cultural humility, and respect for subjects. Supervisory skills for research teams.
