The Analyst will support the execution of Morgan Street’s private equity investment strategy. This role includes sourcing and conducting due diligence on private equity investments, analyzing co-investment opportunities, performing capital markets research, and contributing to asset allocation decisions. Additionally, the Analyst will be responsible for performance management reporting, maintaining data on funds and portfolio companies, and collaborating with the direct investment team. This position provides exposure to the firm’s broader investment activities while offering the opportunity to work closely with senior investment professionals.

What You Will Bring To The Organization

  • Assist in managing the firm’s investment portfolio, with a focus on alternative investments
  • Support the investment team in sourcing and evaluating new investment opportunities
  • Lead due diligence efforts, including financial modeling, valuation analysis, track record assessment, attribution analysis, and reference calls
  • Monitor the performance of existing investments, fund managers, and portfolio companies; participate in meetings and conduct ongoing due diligence
  • Conduct capital markets research and assist in developing asset allocation recommendations
  • Develop and maintain financial models to analyze portfolio risk and cash flow profiles
  • Stay informed on market trends, investment opportunities, risks, and new products
  • Build and maintain relationships with fund managers and industry professionals
  • Build and maintain a database of fund and underlying portfolio company exposure/investments to track performance, risk, and portfolio composition

Skills

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE WE WOULD LIKE YOU TO HAVE

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 1-2 years of experience in finance, consulting, or a related field
  • Experience in private market investments, including diligence, execution, and monitoring; co-investment experience preferred
  • Strong interest in Private Equity investing, private markets, and portfolio management
  • Ability to deliver high-quality work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Collaborative mindset with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in financial modeling and quantitative analysis
  • Strong oral and written communication skills for investment analysis and recommendations
  • Ability to build relationships
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint; experience with DealCloud is a plus

Starting salary between $100,000-$125,000
