Job Summary
The File Review Analyst is responsible for reviewing and approving financial aid funds for all eligible students at assigned
Ancora Education campuses. They act as a subject matter expert on financial aid policies and procedures and
consistently applies eligibility requirements to all students to ensure proper approval of funds. This position interacts directly with campus level Financial Services staff to provide information in response to financial aid inquiries and to resolve financial aid student eligibility issues.
Key Responsibilities
I. Reviews student eligibility documentation
• Reviews and verifies eligibility of all students expecting financial aid disbursements. Approves financial aid
awards in preparation for payment by the Financial Services’ Approve to pay team.
• Reviews campus program set-ups are accurate (e.g., academic year, payment period, loan periods, term
codes, disbursement dates, etc.) to ensure compliant payment of Federal financial aid funds.
• Determines appropriate Grant and Loan amounts based on FAFSA results, enrollment status, and borrower
history.
• For selected student’s, completes Verification, processes ISIR corrections, reviews professional judgments,
corrects COD rejects, and resolves conflicting information.
• Coordinates with other Financial Services team members to ensure prompt approval of eligible disbursements
II. Provides Financial Aid Customer Service
• Responds to inquiries and requests from internal customers (e.g., campuses, Regional Directors of Financial
Services, members of the financial services management team, etc.) to ensure prompt resolution of financial
aid issues.
• Maintains and improves knowledge of financial aid policies and procedures as determined by Federal
regulations and Ancora policy to better serve Ancora Education’s students.
• Communicates regularly and effectively with various team members including campus level and regional staff
to proactively resolve issues and discuss opportunities for process improvement.
• Escalates issues to team lead as appropriate.
Experience Required:
• Minimum:
− 1 year progressive financial aid experience in determining Title IV eligibility & campus based financial aid
operations
− AAS degree (post-secondary diploma/certificate or combined experience/education may be considered)
• Preferred:
− 3 years of progressive financial aid experience
− Bachelor’s degree
