About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Director of Data and Educational Technologies to join their Thurgood Marshall Law Library. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and analyzing institutional data as a strategic asset across academic, administrative, and research functions. This role also involves leading educational technology initiatives to enhance the quality of teaching, scholarship, and operations within the law school. Essential responsibilities include serving as an information architect, developing and piloting technology solutions, and fostering collaboration with various stakeholders. The Executive Director will be expected to have a strong background in data analysis, assessment, and educational technologies, and to possess the ability to communicate and coordinate effectively in a variety of contexts. Applicants for the Executive Director position must have a Master’s in Library and Information Science (MLIS) from an ALA-accredited program and a Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited program, with a minimum of five years of academic library experience. The role requires a candidate with a preference for demonstrated experience in data analysis, survey design, and educational technology. Essential skills include strategic and analytical thinking, the ability to work creatively with a diverse community, and a commitment to continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in contemporary concepts and practices in law librarianship, excellent communication skills, and the ability to navigate change comfortably. Experience in learning management systems, complex data management, and analysis, particularly with Microsoft Excel, is also necessary.
