Job Description

DEFINITION : Under general supervision, performs skilled work in the repair and servicing of a variety of electronic, communications and lighting equipment in district schools; and performs related work as required.

Work Length: 8 Hours per Day


2024-2025 Salary Schedule (9% Increase Effective July 1, 2024)

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES :

• Assembles, installs, repairs and services equipment such as radios, television receivers and antennas, public address systems, tape recorders, motion picture projectors and a variety of audiovisual training equipment
• Repairs and adjusts master clock and fire alarm systems
• Repairs parts and recorders as needed
• Designs parts and reorders as needed
• Sets up and operates loud speaker and lighting systems at special events
• Assists in general electrical maintenance work and installation of wiring systems
• Tests electronic equipment
• May train helpers and assistants

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS :

Training and Experience : A combination of training and experience equivalent to completion of formal training in general electronics work; three years of experience in electronic maintenance.

Knowledge of :

• The tools, equipment and methods of repairing electronic communications equipment
• The construction, assembly, repair and operation of radio and television receivers

Skills in :

• Maintaining and establishing effective working relationships with others
• Keeping records and preparing reports

Ability to :

• Diagnose defects in audiovisual equipment operation and to repair the equipment
• Read blueprints and wiring diagrams
• To instruct and supervise helpers

Licenses and Certificates :

• A valid California driver's license
