About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Medical Information Officer (CMIO) to spearhead system-wide optimization and standardization initiatives, with a focus on developing governance models and serving as the clinical informatics expert. This strategic role is pivotal in leading the organization's Epic optimization efforts, and the successful candidate will be responsible for creating and implementing an optimization roadmap. Key projects include leading the system-wide optimization and standardization of Epic, implementing a physician-builder program, and developing a governance model for Epic. The CMIO will also be tasked with driving improvements in regulatory reporting, fostering a culture of data-driven performance, and improving clinical data capture and reporting efficiency. Candidates for the CMIO position at the company should be licensed physicians with a minimum of 5 years of medical practice experience. A Master’s degree or board certification in informatics is preferred, as is experience with EPIC and an academic medical system. The role requires a leader with a deep understanding of how IT impacts care delivery, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and a proven track record in optimizing IT around clinical workflows. The CMIO will be expected to maintain some clinical practice, lead a team of Epic Medical Directors, and work closely with clinical and technical leaders to prioritize and implement Epic enhancements. Success in this role will be measured by the development of strong relationships, the implementation of the physician builder program, and the overall improvement in the efficiency of key documentation and workflow processes.
