Job Overview

We are currently looking for a Captain to join our team in Holland, MI. This is a salaried, exempt, P4 position reporting to Nathan Haag. 

 

As a Captain, you will:
Act as pilot in command or second in command to safely plan and operate private corporate flights on a 2022 Gulfstream 500 for Haworth. Determines the airworthiness of an aircraft and appropriately reports all maintenance items. Provides guidance and expertise to solve complex problems and ensure operational efficiency. Completes all duties and ensures all decisions are made with a safety-oriented mindset. Operates under Part 91 flight rules. Expect to fly 300 hours per year.

Required Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in relevant field of study or,
    • Associate's Degree plus 2 years related experience or,
    • High school diploma plus 4 years related experience.

       

Work Experience:

  • Minimum of 5000 hours total flight time, including 2000 hours pilot-in-command experience and 500 hours jet experience.
  • 7 years related experience with a Bachelor’s degree or 5 years related experience with a Master’s degree.

     

Certifications/Licensures: 

  • Airline Transport Pilot Certificate.
  • Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) First Class Medical Certificate.
  • Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit.
  • Able to obtain and maintain a valid passport and any visas required for travel destinations. 

 

In addition: 

  • Applicants must be able to work in Holland, MI without relocation assistance.
  • Applicants must possess an unrestricted right to work in the US to be eligible for this position.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Gulfstream GVII Type Rating.
  • Experience as a corporate pilot. 
  • International experience. 
  • Large cabin jet experience.
  • Strong customer service experience. 
  • Functional experience with Microsoft Office suite. 

Essential Functions

  • Perform Customer Service-related activities: As the company’s most visible representative to passengers, must act with tact and decorum while ensuring safe and efficient operation.. Greeting guests, storing personal items, ensuring food and beverage areas are stocked, etc.
  • Ability to travel extensively while performing functions of position, including internationally and overnight away from corporate offices for extended periods of time.
  • Command Aircraft: Serve as pilot-in-command for assigned flights, responsible for the safety and well-being of passengers and crew.
  • Lead the flight crew, providing clear instructions and ensuring coordination.
  • Make critical flight decisions, considering weather conditions, aircraft performance, and other factors.
  • Ensure compliance with all FAA regulations and company policies. Safety focused and have no FAA violations.
  • Conduct flight risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
  • Maintain situational awareness throughout the flight, monitoring aircraft systems and external conditions.
  • Communicate effectively with air traffic control, flight crew, and passengers.
  • Must be able to perform all essential job functions with/without accommodation.
  • Uses office automation, communication, software, and tools used in Haworth office environment or typical environments necessary to operate an aircraft.
  • Performs other duties within scope as assigned.
